We have been made aware of this worthwhile challenge by a couple of our sponsors.
You can read the full story here, but in brief, Oliver Rofix survived Leukaemia and has made it his mission to raise awareness for the Anthony Nolan Trust by sailing a boat (a Valiant 18) that he bought just before his transplant, (Jolly Olly), around the coastline of Britain in 2011.
The challenge is to sail single-handed round Britain in 2011.
The voyage will take about 15-17 weeks depending on weather conditions, with departure planned for May 2nd 2011 and the intention is to stop at various ports (hopefully every night) to raise as much awareness and funds as possible for my chosen charities.
The start/finish line is Ipswich.

This looks like a very worthwhile cause, particularly as there’s local interest
